TIP at Wake

After being used for one summer in 2008, Wake Forest was established as a more permanent site for TIP in 2013.

Now, Wake Forest houses 1st and 2nd years from all over the world.

Wake Forest (widely known as the best campus to go to for TIP) is such a good campus that many a TIPster- including myself- say that due to being so spoiled at Wake Forest, other campuses pale in comparison. Wake Forest dorms have minifridges, microwaves, suite-style dorm rooms with two TIPsters in one room and four TIPsters in a suite (this is very fun for traversing between rooms in the dead of night to play truth or dare) (Note: This is not the case at Collins Hall. Collins is almost the same, just that the rooms are not linked in a suite), private bathrooms, and a huge common room with soda machines, a piano, and (if you behave) a ping-pong room. They also have huge closets and regular beds, and the dorms are air conditioned. The laundry rooms are in the dorms (however, access is very limited) and there's a kitchen off of the common room. There were relatively short walks to classes and the dining hall, and it was shady the entire way. The food in the dining hall was pretty decent, but watch out for the mashed potatoes. A student once found a worm in hers, but that was at the old dining hall, which usually isn't open for the summer. The newer dining hall should be fine. You have been warned. Dining Hall News: The Reynolda Hall food is mediocre at best. They never serve bacon, the sausage is generally either freezer-burned or pink at the center, the burgers are bland, and the fruit is frequently growing mold on them. The pizza is closer to cardboard with slabs of (?) cheese (?) on them. Scrambled eggs need to be cut. Beyond that, just very little variety in the food in general.

If you go to Wake Forest for your first and/or second year, be warned that your second and/or third and/or fourth year campus won't be half as good as far as amenities. This results in the "Spoiled Wake Forest Kid" effect. The TIPsters who went to Wake Forest will begin to whine and complain about how they no longer have minifridges, private bathrooms, in-room microwaves, or soda machines.

Events

  • TIPSync

The first Wake Forest TIPSync was held on the second Saturday, and Flo's RAG took home the prize. The highlight was Albert in a box and Zane hitting Flo with a T-shirt to the tune of "Sexy and I Know It". Colin's RAG fought valiantly but came up in second, with "Gangam Style", riding Ahad's extreme dance stylings. The staff ended TIPSync by performing CJ's favorite song, "22". Also one of the most popular performances was of 1,000 Miles.

Wake Forest version of Quadfest was named "Magnolia Fest", or "Magfest" for short, after the magnolia trees on the quad. The Black (Flo, CJ, Jasmine, and Meghan's RAGs) team dominated the competition, winning by a thousand points (not verified). Events included Cheesy Poof Toss, Day at TIP, and Pudding Scoop.

  • Cage of Death

This was Faris' dodgeball activity, held in the caged-in basketball court. No one died, but we did manage to pop a brand-new dodgeball.

  • Talent Show

The talent show started off the last night. There were many singers, a few dancers, and some Rubix cube experts (like John. He solved a rubix cube blind-folded). After the student performances, the instructional staff performed "Harry Potter Puppet Pals" and were awesome.

Other Notable Things

  • Flizzy (;)) (And Jezzy)
  • The trampoline park: Faris took his RAG there (and Mary Willoughby also took hers!) and it was awesome (All the other RAGs now copy him)
  • Chloe took her kids blackberry picking for their night off!
