The Arthur Kiss
The Arthur Kiss was a kiss between two individuals that occurred Duke East Term 1 in 2009. The kiss took place between third year, Alex Maeder, and second year, Arthur Rizavi, at the top of the Circle Quad at lunch sometime in the third week of the term. (Because Alex is a gender neutral name, it is important to note that Alex is a girl.) Basically, Arthur ran up to Alex, Alex offered him a hug, and then while going in for the hug, Arthur kissed her unsuspecting lips in front of the entire TIPster population. Due to the lack of consent in the kiss, The Arthur Kiss gives hope for second years everywhere to gain the courage to talk to girls who are out of their league.

Before the Kiss
Arthur was determined to kiss Alex. He had strong feelings for her and a strong lusting for her luscious derriere, yet second to third year romance is very rare when the girl is older. In addition, Alex had interest in other guys. Therefore, Arthur had no choice but to ignore consent and go for the kiss. Upon sharing his intentions with Chester Chambers, III, the plan was born. The plan was for Arthur to approach Alex after lunch, kiss her, then run for his classroom. Along with John Vaughan, Chester planned the timing for the event, deciding that the kiss would have the most witnesses after lunch. It should be noted that the kiss was Arthur's first kiss. Ever. Although we cannot say the same for Alex, I think all guys wish their first kiss was with a girl as hot as Alex.
The Kiss
After lunchtime, Alex was led to the top of the Circle Quad by John Vaughan and Zach Getson. As the three stood around conversing, Arthur approached with a shy smile. He gave hugs to John and Zach then was asked by Alex for a hug. At the time, the kiss didn't have a set time in the conversation, but it is said that right before going in for the hug, Arthur saw John mouthing the words, "Do it now!" As she opened her arms for a hug, Arthur leaned forward and kissed an unsuspecting Alex.
After the kiss, Arthur sprinted to Carr. Alex's eyes got huge. Like the size of the top of Baldwin. She put her hands over her mouth and started angrily walking around the Circle Quad. People on the steps of the Union stood in utter shock of the event that they had just witnessed. Some people yelled for Arthur to come back. Some people stood in anger, wishing that they had the courage to kiss a girl as hot as Alex. Everyone else just laughed their asses off at the whole situation.
The Aftermath
There was no love lost between Arthur and Alex after the kiss. The two went on to live perfectly normal lives, although no further romance occurred between the two of them. They went on to be good friends, but they still have one year together to relight the fire of The Arthur Kiss. In addition, many men were inspired by Arthur’s bravery, as all men saw that any man could get a kiss from any woman if he just had the courage to man up and kiss her.
