TIPster Index

Welcome to the TIPster Index! Take time to read through the following so you know what to do here.

What is the Index?

Think of the Index as a small sub-section of the wiki. It's where all the snippets of info about TiPsters go, rather than being deleted.

You see, here at TiP Wiki, we see a page like this:

Hilary Rasch
Not surprisingly, Hilary is gorgeous as well. She's very sweet, and easy to talk to. Hilary is pretty amazing actually.
Definitely one of the best TIPsters ever.

Now, under the usual rules, this isn't enough information to constitute a page on the wiki. We have nothing against this person, but there isn't enough content to fill a page. So, normally, this page would be deleted by an admin. With the TiPster Index, this doesn't happen! Instead, users simply put the information into the appropriate page of the Index. Because the Index has multople people on one page, space is saved, and thus it costs less money to host the wiki. It's also easier to find information this way.

How do I add a person?

Adding a person to the Index is very simple. Go to the page where the person should appear (the Index is sorted alphabetically, by last name).

So, Edward Example would go in the E's, after Emily Ewell and before Eric Eyell. Simple, no?

Criteria

First off, make sure you're writing about a TIPster. Things like RAG groups and , should not have entries in the Index. If staff were once a TiPster, they only need a page for them as staff.

Now, what should you write about this person? Well, not much is required for Index entries, as it's intended for short blurbs. If you have a lot of information about a person (their classes, achievements, a picture), you might consider making a whole article for them. Otherwise, write a short summary of them.

  • First, Write the persons name, as full as possible. Nicknames should be includes.
Edward 'Exxy' Example
  • After the name of the person, please include the campus of the person you write about, and preferrably the years you know they attended.
Davidson 2001, Duke East 2002-2004
  • Then, write what you intended to write!
Exxy was a very cool TiPster, known for providing an example of what to do in confusing situations..
His fourth year speech consisted of him yelling 'This is an EXAMPLE!' into the microphone.
He was in his fourth year.
  • So, now put it all together:

Edward 'Exxy' Example

That's all it takes!
