What Is Tipression?

Tipression is the intense sadness that a person experiences for a period of time after leaving Duke TIP for the summer, especially if they know that they won't be coming back. Tipression happens because coming home after spending a month with really close friends that a Tipster has made can feel like jumping headfirst into a freezing cold swimming pool after a month spent in a hot tub. Not everyone experiences Tipression, but for those who do experience it, Tipression can be a painful experience.

Curing Tipression

There is no known cure for Tipression. However, supportive care can be provided in the form of staying in touch with friends that a person made at Duke TIP, and even occasionally meeting up with said friends, if possible. Tipression takes time to go away, but it does go away on its own eventually.
