Miss TIP was a Quadfest beauty pageant. In the 80's, they started doing this and cross-dressing instead of the traditional dorm skits. Miss TIP happened at Term I, 1997, Term II, 1998, and both terms 1999. Term II 1999 was the last occurance of Miss TIP. Ben Abbotts and Geoff Geis dressed up as lesbian dominatrices. One of them was on a dog leash (Likely, it was Geoff Geis). They had the traditional kiss when they won, but went on to make out, and then hands started going down pants. Of course, there were TIP sponsors and officials in the crowd who did not like this, and so lip sync became the full-time replacement. The dorm skits became a full-time Quadfest event in 2001.

Skits were attempted at Davidson Term 1 2005, but failed due to lack of student participation and staff leadership.
