Background

Joel Zimmerman, better known by his stage name deadmau5 (pronounced "dead mouse"), is a Canadian progressive-house music producer and performer. Zimmerman produces a variety of styles within the house genre and sometimes other forms of electronic dance music. His debut album, Get Scraped, was released in 2005, followed by others in the next few years.

Fourth Year Justin Flory brought a physical deadmau5 head to Term 1 of 2013 at the University of Georgia.

Origin

Since his third year of TiP, Justin built and created the deadmau5 head with his own resources and time. During his third year, he wanted to bring it to TiP to make the dances even more amazing than they already were.

For the first week of TiP, the deadmau5 wasn't seen by anyone and it was kept under wraps. It wasn't until the first dance on Friday that deadmau5 made an official appearance.
