Bernie Womble

The class skeleton, which was just over a foot tall, came to be known as Bernie Womble and was featured on the back of the class shirts (drawn by the amazingly talented TA, Tracey). Bernie earned this name because, when nudged, he dangled in such a way that resembled the once popular dance, the bernie. Womble was the last name of one of the students, and somehow Bernie adopted the name as his own. Bernie suffered great torture at the hands of the students in the class; he could often be found with his limbs attached in the wrong places and, at one point, a fake mustache was stuck to the back of his skull. However, even though he was horribly mistreated, the students had a deep affection for Bernie Womble. He will live on in our hearts forever.
