A contribution jar for the wiki is being passed around East term II at this very moment, unless you happen to be reading this in the middle of the night. In that case, it may or may not be- who knows? Please be ever so kind and contribute. Track down Fat Tony, Taush, Sam, or Anthony. They know what to do. --Cally! 23:57, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
  • Site Update

Hello Fellow TIPsters, as I get farther and farther from my TIP friends and TIP age, I must question my role on this wiki and its future. While we do have a steady stream of edits during the year, our activity is mainly limited to the few weeks after each TIP term. I hope to see that trend continue this year as TIP begins again. If you will be heading back to TIP this year, please spread the word about the TIPwiki and encourage your friends to come by and contribute. Also, I would love to hear from all of you with your ideas for the future of the wiki and any comments/suggestions. If any of you are interested in getting more actively involved in the wiki, I would love to hear that too! Please feel free to email me. Thanks! --Anthony 03:50, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
    • Also, if you object to some content on this site, please email me before removing it (changing it productively is, of course, fine). Otherwise, your changes will be considered vandalism and reverted. Thank you.

We don't really have too much content yet, so... add some! To add content, simply go to a page that doesn't yet exist, and click the "edit" button. Don't be afraid to edit anything and everything in a way you think will be constructive. So far, our members have created 498 articles! This is a wiki; it belongs to all TIPsters. Edit pages, edit talk pages, edit the main page! To see what's been going on, check the Recent Changes link, or Community Portal or talk/discussion pages. Thanks again for coming!

I'd just like to once again thank everyone who has contributed and helped this wiki get started. We have support from several campuses, TIP alumni and rising first years, and even the TIP staff. I can't thank you all enough!

- Timmy

Toga Tuesday is a former TIP tradition in which TIPsters dressed in the style of the people of everyone's favorite similarly fallen Western empire — Rome. There were wide-scale attempts at resurrecting this tradition was at East II 2002, however, only a few dedicated TIPsters continued to attempt it at East II 2003 and 2004. Toga Tuesday was revived during East Term I 2006 on the third Tuesday of the term, led mostly by Madison Pollock and Rivers McKenzie. Toga Tuesday continued through East Term I 2007. (continued...)

The current Collaboration is 2007.

The Collaboration is an article on TIPWiki which is chosen to be community 'target' for editing. The end goal is to produce a spotlight-worthy article for TIPsters. Collaboration articles are chosen for having high potential as an article, but poor execution. Note that editors are free to work with others on any article they wish, the collaboration is simply a suggested article. If you have suggestions for a collaboration, post them on the Talk:Collaboration.

Easy ways to contribute to a collaboration:

  • Add a photo
  • Fix spelling and grammatical errors
  • Improve the article's section breaks
  • Categorize the page

The previous Collaboration was Time Warp.

Where to start:

Campuses: A good place to start, as a lot of information is accessable from the campus pages.

List of RCs: Lists every RC by campus and year.

All Pages: Lists every article in the Wiki.

Categories: A list of all page categories.

TODO: A list of tasks that need to be done.

Wiki Policy/Guidelines: Help us create the policies that guide this wiki.

Sandbox: Try out editing and have fun in the sandbox.

TIP-TAB(Beta): TIP-TAB allows you to share contact information with other TIPsters.

Communications: Mailing lists, message boards, web sites, etc. for TIPsters.

Photo Links: Links to photo sites run by TIPsters.

Points of Wiki Interest

Standards: Please keep the TIPwiki's standards and proposed policies in mind while editing!

Hosting: This page is now hosted by Anthony Chivetta on NearlyFreeSpeech.net. It does cost a few cents every month to host so, we can not afford to put too many large images on the site.

Logo: Design our logo! We are currently in need of a logo. To submit a design, upload it to the site and add it to the logos page or Email Anthony. It must be in PNG format, 125x125(+/-10), and should have a transparent background (!=white). It can not use the official Duke TIP logo for legal reasons. See possible logos.
